Kuwait Intercepts Missiles and Drones, Responds Swiftly to Infrastructure Attacks

Kuwait responds swiftly to attacks on vital infrastructure as drones and missiles target oil, power, and government complexes. The nation faced unprecedented threats, yet authorities acted decisively to protect lives and maintain essential services.

The attacks struck multiple locations, including Kuwait Petroleum Corporation sites, the oil sector complex in Shuwaikh, and the ministries complex in Kuwait City. Fires erupted, and material damage occurred, but emergency teams contained the situation efficiently. This quick response highlights Kuwait’s preparedness to safeguard national assets.

In addition, power generation and water distillation plants suffered damage, causing temporary shutdowns of two units. The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy coordinated repair efforts immediately, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance assessed damage at a building within the ministries complex and implemented temporary remote work for staff.

Emergency services reported intercepting nine ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles, and 31 drones over the past 24 hours. The National Guard shot down additional drones and unmanned aircraft, demonstrating the country’s robust defense capabilities. Authorities urged the public to avoid debris zones and follow official safety instructions.

Kuwait Fire Force managed 98 non-routine incidents since the attacks began. Teams conducted sweeps to ensure no additional unreported damage or injuries occurred. Citizens were advised to report hazards via emergency hotline 112. These measures reflect a strong national system designed to preserve public safety during crises.

The ministry of social affairs activated emergency protocols, combining in-person and remote work to maintain uninterrupted social services. Monitoring systems tracked stock levels and operations at care facilities, ensuring residents received continuous support. Telecommunications authorities coordinated with providers to maintain network stability, allowing citizens to communicate effectively despite the attacks.

Diplomatic channels also remained active. Kuwait’s Foreign Minister held discussions with Qatar’s Amir, emphasizing cooperation and regional stability. The country continues to balance immediate security needs with broader diplomatic engagement to strengthen resilience and preparedness.

Kuwait’s swift response, coordinated defense, and emergency planning underline the nation’s ability to manage crises while protecting infrastructure and citizens. The attacks reinforce the importance of national readiness and strategic coordination.
