Kuwait Demands Immediate International Response to Gaza and Sudan Crises at UN Council

Kuwait has issued a urgent call for global action. Ambassador Nasser Al-Hayen addressed the United Nations Human Rights Council. He emphasized the critical humanitarian situations in Gaza and Sudan. Consequently, he described Gaza as one of the world’s worst disasters. He highlighted widespread starvation, destruction, and mass displacement.

The UNHRC’s 60th session opens this Monday. It will review human rights issues globally. Topics include water access, elderly rights, and climate change. Kuwait is coordinating with GCC nations and other blocs. Therefore, they seek a stronger international response to ongoing atrocities.

Ambassador Al-Hayen outlined several pressing demands. He urged efforts to halt violations and end occupation crimes. However, he called for preventing West Bank annexation. He stressed ensuring immediate humanitarian aid entry. The UN’s recent famine declaration underscores the urgency. Swift action is needed to save civilian lives.

Meanwhile, tensions escalated following Zionist statements. Foreign Minister Gideon Saar rejected growing recognition of Palestinian statehood. Moreover, he called it a “tremendous mistake.” This followed reports of planned West Bank annexation. The controversial E1 settlement project threatens a future Palestinian state.

France and Britain plan to recognize Palestinian statehood soon. This occurs during the upcoming UN General Assembly. Zionist officials strongly oppose this move. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich openly supports annexation. He says it would “bury the idea of a Palestinian state.”

Violence has worsened significantly since October 2023. Palestinian health authorities report at least 973 deaths. Zionist officials confirm 36 deaths in attacks and operations.

The international community must act now to address these crises. The international community must act now to prevent further catastrophe. Kuwait’s plea highlights the critical need for intervention. The international community must act now to uphold human rights and peace.
