Kuwait Celebrates National and Liberation Days Abroad, Strengthening Diplomatic Ties

Kuwait National Day celebrations took center stage as embassies in Lebanon and Spain hosted vibrant events, showcasing strong diplomatic and cultural ties. These Kuwait National Day celebrations highlighted decades-long friendships and ongoing cooperation between Kuwait and the host countries.

In Beirut, the Kuwaiti Embassy welcomed prominent political, diplomatic, and social figures. The Charge d’Affaires congratulated the government and people of Kuwait. He emphasized the deep-rooted brotherly relations with Lebanon, reinforced by shared history and mutual respect. Furthermore, he praised Lebanon’s participation in Kuwait National Day celebrations, underlining the event’s importance for cultural and regional unity.

Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri represented Lebanon’s leadership at the event. He highlighted the longstanding bonds between the two nations, noting political and social connections. Mitri also reflected on decades of personal and professional interactions that make these occasions meaningful for both peoples. The gathering strengthened friendship networks and provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s Embassy in Madrid organized a similar reception attended by diplomats, academics, and civil society representatives. The ambassador congratulated the government and people of Kuwait while wishing continued prosperity and stability. He highlighted the growth in political, economic, and commercial relations over the past six decades, particularly in trade, tourism, and aviation.

Kuwait Airways currently operates nine weekly flights to three Spanish cities, facilitating business and cultural exchange. Agreements and memoranda of understanding have strengthened bilateral ties and advanced cooperation in line with Kuwait Vision 2035. The ambassador also praised Spain’s commitment to regional peace, highlighting its stance on the Palestinian cause and shared dedication to international law.

Spanish officials expressed admiration for Kuwait National Day celebrations and the country’s progress. Senator Luis Rogelio Rodriguez emphasized the strong diplomatic ties and expressed hope for further cooperation. Similarly, Senator Teresa Ruiz-Sillero highlighted opportunities for deeper political and cultural collaboration. Other representatives, including Basque lawmakers, conveyed congratulations and acknowledged Kuwait’s growing influence in sectors such as energy and technology.

Overall, Kuwait National Day celebrations abroad reinforced the nation’s image as a hub of diplomacy, culture, and international friendship. These events also showcased Kuwait’s commitment to nurturing long-term partnerships and promoting regional stability.
