Kuwait Appoints Two Interior Ministry Security Chiefs

Kuwait has appointed two senior security officials to key leadership positions within the Interior Ministry, as the government continues efforts to strengthen the country’s security institutions.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah issued ministerial decisions appointing Maj. Gen. Hamad Al-Munaifi as Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs and Maj. Gen. Fawaz Al-Roumi as Assistant Undersecretary for Support Security Services.

The ministry said Al-Roumi was also promoted to the rank of major general following Amiri decrees issued on Sunday confirming the appointments.

Sheikh Fahad congratulated both officials, saying the appointments reflected the leadership’s confidence in experienced national talent. He added that recognizing capable officers encourages greater professionalism and commitment across the country’s security institutions.

The minister said the next stage would require closer coordination between the ministry’s departments and continued efforts to improve institutional performance while maintaining Kuwait’s security and stability.

He also stressed the importance of investing in national talent, promoting innovation within the ministry and strengthening the readiness of the country’s security services to respond to evolving challenges.

The appointments form part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to enhance the effectiveness of its security apparatus and support ongoing institutional development.
