Kuwait Amir Discusses Regional Security With Leaders

Kuwait’s Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held a phone call with Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Tuesday, during which the two leaders reviewed close bilateral relations and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation across various fields.

According to official statements, both sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments, with an emphasis on enhancing stability and addressing shared concerns in the Gulf and beyond.

In a separate call, the Kuwaiti Amir also spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The discussion focused on bilateral relations as well as recent regional developments affecting security in the wider region.

During the call, the Indian prime minister condemned recent Iranian attacks on Kuwaiti territory and airspace, including a strike on Kuwait International Airport that resulted in the death of an Indian national and injuries to others. He described the incident as a violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and international law.

Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s solidarity with Kuwait and its support for measures aimed at safeguarding the country’s security and stability.

For his part, the Kuwaiti Amir expressed condolences over the death of the Indian national and wished a swift recovery for those injured. He also thanked India for its support and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to maintaining strong international partnerships in the face of regional challenges.

The calls come amid heightened regional tensions, as Gulf states continue diplomatic engagements with international partners over security developments in the region.
