Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani Meets Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit at Antalya Diplomacy Forum

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, as part of his participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

According to a statement from the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region, the meeting focused on the relationship between Iraq — including the Kurdistan Region — and the Arab League, as well as the ties between Erbil and Baghdad. The discussion also covered the latest political developments in Iraq and the wider region, with both sides highlighting the importance of maintaining stability and promoting dialogue to resolve outstanding issues.

President Barzani praised the Arab League’s efforts to preserve peace and stability in the region and commended Secretary-General Aboul Gheit for his role in fostering understanding among member states.

For his part, Secretary-General Aboul Gheit described the Kurdistan Region’s progress and role in supporting peace and stability in Iraq and the broader region as significant and noteworthy.
