KPMG in Qatar recently welcomed the leadership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to its Doha office. The visit took place yesterday and marked an important milestone for both organizations. The delegation included ICAI President CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, Vice President CA. Prasanna Kumar, and Chairman of the Corporate Laws & Governance Committee Babu Abraham.
Moreover, the ICAI leaders visited Qatar to join the Chartered Accountants Day celebrations held at Le Royal Méridien in the evening. During their visit, the ICAI leadership actively engaged with Indian Chartered Accountants and articled trainees working at KPMG in Qatar. As a result, the event showcased the crucial role these professionals play in shaping Qatar’s business and financial sectors.
Additionally, KPMG in Qatar offered its team a rare and valuable chance to meet the top leaders of the world’s largest accounting body. In fact, ICAI represents around 500,000 members and over one million students worldwide.
During his inspiring speech, ICAI President CA. Nanda invited each team member to introduce themselves first. Then, he passionately described the vital role Chartered Accountants play in supporting India’s economic growth and maintaining global financial standards. Furthermore, he proudly referred to Indian Chartered Accountants as the “financial soldiers of the Republic of India.”
Notably, CA. Nanda also highlighted ICAI’s significant success in hosting the World Congress of Accountants. This global event demonstrated India’s rising influence in the finance world and celebrated the profession’s progress. His words deeply inspired the entire KPMG team and further strengthened their connection with ICAI.
