Iraq’s humanitarian efforts remain a top priority as President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized strengthening cooperation with the ICRC. The meeting highlighted the government’s commitment to alleviating suffering and supporting social stability. By working closely with the International Committee of the Red Cross, Iraq aims to address urgent humanitarian needs more effectively.

During the meeting at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, Rashid stressed the importance of focusing ICRC programs on the areas most in need. He highlighted that enhancing the effectiveness of humanitarian responses is essential to supporting vulnerable communities. Furthermore, the President emphasized that strong collaboration can significantly improve social stability across Iraq.

Rashid also noted that coordination with the ICRC should prioritize urgent humanitarian priorities. He explained that combining government resources with ICRC expertise ensures timely and efficient support for affected populations. By reinforcing partnerships, Iraq demonstrates its commitment to addressing pressing social challenges.

For his part, Ikhtiyar Aslanov, head of the ICRC delegation in Iraq, briefed the President on ongoing programs and activities. He outlined ways the delegation responds to growing humanitarian needs. Aslanov also discussed strategies for improving program efficiency and targeting the most vulnerable groups. The meeting reinforced the importance of continued collaboration between Iraq and the ICRC.

Moreover, the discussion emphasized the role of humanitarian programs in maintaining social cohesion. By addressing the suffering of affected communities, Iraq strengthens resilience and stability. Rashid underlined that such initiatives are crucial for national development and public trust.

In addition, both sides agreed on the need to expand outreach and coordination in regions facing significant challenges. They committed to monitoring progress, evaluating results, and adapting programs to meet emerging needs. Through this approach, Iraq’s humanitarian efforts remain proactive, targeted, and responsive.

Overall, the meeting reaffirmed Iraq’s dedication to working with international partners.
