FIA President Applauds Bahrain Grand Prix: “Bahrain Leads Gulf Motorsports”

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has praised Bahrain’s exceptional effort in hosting the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix. He described the event not only as an achievement but also as a display of passion and teamwork. While speaking to Al Bilad Sport, Ben Sulayem emphasized Bahrain’s unique identity in global motorsports.

From hotel departure to arrival at the circuit, he noticed seamless coordination between all teams. Everyone worked in harmony without stress, confusion, or delay. Moreover, the organizers showed complete dedication and unity. This cooperation, according to him, shows genuine commitment to excellence.

Ben Sulayem also highlighted the emotional drive behind Bahrain’s success. “This isn’t just about experience,” he said. “It’s a true desire to make this event shine.” He stressed that Bahrain’s efforts come from the heart, with no pretense or routine performance.

Reflecting on past memories, he recalled a personal conversation with Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Back in 2000, the Prince shared Bahrain’s ambitious vision for motorsports in the Gulf. That early commitment later led to the historic 2004 Formula 1 debut in Bahrain.

Today, after two decades of growth, Bahrain leads Gulf motorsports with confidence and pride. According to Ben Sulayem, Bahrain’s human talent plays a vital role. These passionate professionals push the race to new standards every year.

Even with other Gulf races joining the calendar, Bahrain’s leadership stands firm. Rather than competing negatively, the Gulf circuits complement each other. Together, they show the world the region’s ability to host world-class events.

Ben Sulayem values Bahrain so much that he prioritizes attending its Grand Prix each year. Despite his tight schedule with multiple FIA championships, Bahrain remains a must-visit stop for him.

Finally, he shared thoughts on the dream of seeing a Gulf driver in Formula 1. He emphasized that such a dream needs detailed planning and patience. With long-term investments in training, Bahrain leads Gulf motorsports and inspires future generations.
