Explosion Reported At Factory In Qatar’s Ras Laffan

Qatari authorities said an explosion occurred at a factory in the Ras Laffan Industrial Area on Sunday, with no injuries or hazardous leaks reported.

The Ministry of Interior said the incident was caused by a technical fault inside one of the facilities located in the industrial zone, which is home to some of the country’s key liquefied natural gas processing operations.

In a statement, the ministry said civil defence teams responded immediately and began handling the situation following the explosion.

Officials confirmed that no injuries had been recorded and that there were no leaks posing a risk to workers or the wider public.

The ministry described the incident as an internal explosion linked to a technical issue and said emergency crews remained on site to manage the situation and ensure safety measures were maintained.

Ras Laffan Industrial City is a major hub for Qatar’s energy sector and plays a central role in the country’s liquefied natural gas industry.
