Education, Defense Ministries Hold Coordination Meeting

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) recently held a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Defense (MoD) to explore opportunities for joint cooperation. This marks a significant step in education and defense collaboration. This collaboration aims to actively involve personnel from the Qatari Armed Forces in educational activities. It fosters key national values such as loyalty, discipline, and responsibility among students. The collaboration between these ministries is a prime example of how education and defense collaboration can benefit students and the nation.

The meeting was chaired by Maha Zaid Al-Qaqqaa Al-Ruwaili, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs. Brigadier General Talib Anter Al-Marri and Captain Salem Mohammed Muhmeid from the Ministry of Defense participated in the discussions. Also attending were Jassim Al-Hardan, Commissioner General of the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association. Senior officials from the Educational Affairs Sector were also present. This collaborative effort strengthens the foundation of education and defense collaboration.

During the meeting, the two ministries discussed the integration of selected Ministry of Defense personnel as co-leaders in scouting programs within preparatory and secondary boys’ schools. This initiative aims to encourage the development of leadership skills, personal responsibility, and a deeper sense of active citizenship in students. It creates a positive and engaging educational environment. By doing so, the program is designed to help shape future generations who can contribute meaningfully to society. The focus on education and defense collaboration is crucial for achieving these goals.

The two ministries approved the general framework for institutional cooperation. They agreed on the strategic plan for implementing the project during its pilot phase. They also worked on defining the job descriptions for participating personnel. This clearly outlines their roles and responsibilities to ensure the smooth execution of the program. A key focus was on establishing a system of regular evaluations. This allows for ongoing improvements and preparation for broader expansion in the future. Education and defense collaboration will continue to evolve through these evaluations.

This partnership exemplifies the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s commitment to strengthening collaborations that enhance the educational process. It also reflects Qatar’s broader efforts to build a more integrated and dynamic learning environment. This environment encourages national values, leadership, and active citizenship.
