Muscat Municipality showcased its digital transformation at the 34th COMEX Global Technology Expo 2025. The event ran from 8 to 11 September at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. Consequently, attendees experienced the municipality’s achievements in digital services for citizens and residents. These efforts, moreover, highlight current and future projects aimed at improving the quality of life in Muscat.
Furthermore, the participation supports the municipality’s vision of building a smart and sustainable city. In addition, organizers conducted specialised workshops demonstrating key initiatives. Among these, the Unified Municipal System stood out as a major step in standardizing procedures. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, explained the importance of participation. Moreover, he emphasized that innovation and modern technologies remain central to providing integrated, high-quality services.
Furthermore, the municipality launched a new website during the event. The site features a modern, user-friendly design offering integrated services for individuals, businesses, and government entities. Additionally, it includes accessibility features to support people with special needs.
Muscat Municipality earned the Hadatha Initiative Excellence Award in Cybersecurity 2025 in the government institutions category. The recognition reflects strong cybersecurity performance and high ranking in the National Cybersecurity Index. Officials noted, moreover, that local talent and innovative approaches drove the success.
COMEX 2025 provides one of the largest platforms for showcasing modern technology. It brings together, therefore, local and international organisations in areas like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies.
