Dhofar Road Projects Enhance Tourist Site Access Across Oman

Dhofar road projects continue expanding transport infrastructure to support regional economic growth and tourism. Local transport authorities anticipate welcoming over one million visitors during the ongoing Khareef monsoon season. Eng. Said Mohammed Tabook confirmed that engineering teams accelerated network construction across key mountain districts. Consequently, strategic Dhofar road projects directly improve access to prominent coastal, natural, and heritage destinations.

Engineers recently opened a twenty-kilometer coastal dirt road connecting the Wilayats of Rakhyut and Dhalkut. This newly opened passage offers travelers seamless travel through scenic pristine wilderness areas along the coast. Meanwhile, contractors continue work on the thirty-three-kilometer Raysut to Al Mughsayl dualisation initiative costing thirty million Omani rials. That massive infrastructure expansion significantly eases heavy vehicle congestion along primary tourist routes.

Workers completed the nine-million-rial Al Mughsayl bridge and road development during early July. The modern site features illuminated pedestrian walkways alongside extensive parking lots and underground access passages. These public amenities directly serve visitors exploring the famous Al Marneef Cave blowholes and nearby waterfronts. Therefore, enhanced transport connections steadily improve visitor safety while promoting rapid regional economic vitality.

Crews in eastern Dhofar actively advance dualisation work along the twenty-one-kilometer Al Maamourah to Taqah highway. That specific upgrade project requires an investment exceeding one point five million Omani rials. Teams expect to finish all remaining construction phases on this route before the current year ends. Simultaneously, workers rehabilitate the twenty-four-kilometer Taqah to Madinat Al Haq road under a similar timeline.

Rehabilitation operations also cover forty-two kilometers across Madinat Al Haq, Yoor, Tawi Ater, and Darbat routes. Contracted builders anticipate completing these comprehensive network upgrades by mid-2027 at nearly two million rials. Previously, teams handed over the thirty-kilometer Tawi Ater to Rakah and Jibjat project late last year. Ultimately, ongoing Dhofar road projects ensure durable high-quality transport networks for residents and international travelers alike.
