Community Summer Programs Begin in North Al Batinah

Community summer programs have officially entered their second phase across North Al Batinah Governorate as part of the 2025 Summer Centers. This phase marks a major step in involving children and adolescents in meaningful and skill-building activities during their summer break.

The launch, held under the supervision of the Office of the Governor of North Al Batinah, strengthens collaborative community efforts. It brings together several civil society organizations to deliver educational and recreational programs in various wilayats. The General Directorate of Social Development is leading this initiative with strong coordination from local associations.

Sultan bin Qais bin Saif Al Abri, Director General of the Directorate, emphasized the importance of effective partnerships. He stated that these programs help create supportive spaces for young people to develop their skills. They also play a key role in shaping character and building confidence.

The community summer programs include strong participation from Omani Women’s Associations. These associations offer a wide range of workshops. Activities include palm frond crafts, traditional handwork, scientific projects, and creative thinking sessions. They also feature health awareness programs and several volunteering opportunities for youth.

Meanwhile, Al Wafa Centers for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities have added their own creative touch. Their centers in multiple wilayats provide training in candle mold making, gypsum artwork, and accessory design. These inclusive activities highlight the importance of integration and skill development for all children.

In addition, charitable teams and other civil society groups are also active participants. The Liwa Charity Harvest Team held workshops like “Protect Yourself” and “Skillful Speaker.” They also launched campaigns such as “Your Awareness Saves Lives” to promote health and cybersecurity awareness.

All of these efforts show the strength of community summer programs in uniting diverse institutions. Government bodies, charitable teams, and civil groups are working together to support youth development in a safe and enriching environment.

These ongoing programs reaffirm the goal of building a future generation that is educated, skilled, and socially responsible. Through continued collaboration, North Al Batinah’s community summer programs are setting a strong example for the rest of the country.
