Bahraini Women’s Empowerment Shines in National Workshop

Bahrain reinforced its commitment to women’s professional empowerment this week through a workshop showcasing female achievements at home and abroad. The event emphasized that women’s professional empowerment strengthens both national progress and global representation. Officials also highlighted how women’s professional empowerment drives institutional development and encourages participation in leadership roles.

The Gender Balance Committee at the House of Representatives Secretariat organized the workshop, in collaboration with the Parliamentary Studies and Training Department. Chaired by Yasser Saqr Al-Shirawi, Assistant Secretary-General for Resources and Services, the workshop explored ways to enhance female involvement in public life and decision-making.

Basma Al-Hassan, Executive Parliamentary Decisions Specialist at the Legal Affairs Department, led the session. She highlighted the ongoing development of Bahraini women in various sectors. Al-Hassan also presented examples of Bahraini women excelling in national work, showcasing their impactful contributions in political, social, and economic fields.

During the workshop, participants discussed legislative and institutional measures supporting female participation. They examined policies that create equal opportunities and encourage women to assume positions of responsibility. The session featured successful examples of women who have excelled domestically and represented Bahrain on international platforms.

Furthermore, the workshop aligned with the operational plan of the Gender Balance Committee for this year. Organizers emphasized fostering a culture of professional growth and gender equality. They also stressed that workshops like this cultivate skills, enhance leadership capabilities, and inspire the next generation of women leaders.

The event reflects Bahrain’s dedication to sustainable development through inclusivity. By promoting female participation in professional and public spheres, authorities aim to strengthen national institutions and elevate the country’s presence internationally.

Officials concluded that continuous support for women remains a priority. They urged ongoing efforts to provide training, mentorship, and opportunities across diverse sectors. Moreover, fostering collaboration between government bodies and civil society ensures that women’s professional empowerment continues to grow.

In summary, Bahrain’s workshop demonstrates a clear commitment to women’s professional empowerment, highlights their national and international achievements, and inspires ongoing institutional and societal support for female leadership.
