Bahrain Wrestling Team Shines at Hungary’s International Championship

The Bahrain wrestling victory at the Classification Series Championship in Budapest marked a major milestone for the national team. With the world’s toughest competitors present, Bahrain’s athletes delivered a stunning performance on the international stage.

From the start, Bahraini wrestlers showed confidence and technique. Olympic champion Ahmed Tajdinov won gold in the 97 kg freestyle category. Shamil Sharipov followed with another gold in the 125 kg weight class. On the final day, Muhammad Rasul Asluev added a bronze medal in the 74 kg class after an intense series of matches.

This Bahrain wrestling victory proved the team’s growing strength. The wrestlers did not just win medals—they dominated their bouts. Tajdinov even set a championship record, scoring 46 points and allowing only 2, earning him recognition as the best freestyle wrestler in the tournament.

The technical and coaching staff played a vital role in preparing the team. Their effort helped build strong strategies and sharpen each athlete’s focus. Throughout the event, wrestlers supported one another, creating a spirit of unity. Tajdinov and Sharipov were seen offering guidance and motivation to their teammates during matches.

This team-first mindset contributed directly to Asluev’s bronze medal. With loud cheers and tactical advice from fellow athletes, he secured important wins against competitors from South Korea, India, and Kazakhstan.

The Bahrain Wrestling Federation expressed pride in the team’s achievement. Officials noted that this success reflects years of planning, investment, and support. They also emphasized the leadership’s continuous efforts to promote combat sports in the country.

First-time participant Muhammad Sharipov also competed in the 92 kg weight class. Despite a strong effort, he lost in the round of 16 against a seasoned Azerbaijani opponent. However, the experience gained will likely benefit him in future tournaments.

The Bahrain wrestling victory in Hungary symbolizes more than medals. It highlights resilience, teamwork, and rising international presence. With such commitment, Bahrain’s wrestling future looks brighter than ever.
