Bahrain Signs Digital Cooperation Deal with Comoros

The Kingdom of Bahrain has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Republic of Comoros aimed at strengthening cooperation in digital government and exchanging technical expertise in line with international standards.

The agreement was concluded under Bahrain’s “Global Twinning for Excellence in Digital Government” initiative, launched in 2024 to expand international partnerships in e-government development and support knowledge-sharing with friendly countries.

Officials said the deal reflects Bahrain’s growing role in digital transformation across the region, particularly in supporting developing countries to improve public services and modernise government systems.

The memorandum focuses on enhancing cooperation in e-government development, including technical support, training programmes, as well as advisory services. It also covers the exchange of data, studies, and best practices to improve digital service delivery.

Within the framework of the agreement, Bahrain will also support efforts linked to the United Nations e-Government Development Index, helping Comoros strengthen its digital capacity and service efficiency.

The signing ceremony was held virtually between the Information and eGovernment Authority in Bahrain and the National Agency for Digital Development of Comoros.

The initiative forms part of wider efforts by Bahrain to expand international cooperation in digital transformation and position itself as a regional hub for government technology expertise.
