Bahrain Launches Global Commercial Court to Strengthen International Business Confidence

Bahrain has strengthened its position as a global hub for justice with the launch of the Bahrain International Commercial Court. This step aims to promote legal transparency, support fair dispute resolution, and attract more international investors to the Kingdom.

Dr. Jamila Mohammed Redha Al-Salman, Chairperson of the Services Committee in the Shura Council, said the court fulfills Bahrain’s vision for institutional justice and the rule of law. She explained that this effort builds a modern, independent judicial system that supports sustainable growth and economic progress.

Furthermore, she emphasized that the Bahrain International Commercial Court represents a new era for managing complex international business disputes. It applies global standards and advanced technology to make Bahrain’s legal process faster, fairer, and more reliable.

In addition, Al-Salman praised Bahrain’s partnership with Singapore, which helped establish the new court. She noted that this collaboration brings valuable legal expertise and strengthens Bahrain’s international credibility in commercial justice. Through this partnership, Bahrain continues to learn from global experiences and share its own legal advancements.

She also referred to the King Hamad Forum for Justice, where the country’s leaders highlighted fairness, security, and digital transformation in the legal sector. The forum’s outcomes align with Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to encourage investment and strengthen governance based on transparency.

Recently, the Shura Council approved Decree-Law No. (9) of 2024 to formally establish the court. However, the law responds to the growing need for specialized institutions that can handle global commercial disputes efficiently and professionally.

Moreover, Al-Salman said the Bahrain International Commercial Court will offer flexible and reliable dispute resolution for companies operating in Bahrain. It gives businesses a trusted legal environment that matches international expectations and ensures swift results.

Overall, this initiative enhances Bahrain’s competitiveness as a regional and global center for commercial justice. With strong partnerships, modern laws, and digital innovation, Bahrain is building a system that inspires confidence and strengthens its role in global trade.
