Bahrain Hosts Thrilling 18th Horse Race with High Participation

Bahrain is set to witness an exciting day of horse racing as the 18th race of the 2024/2025 season unfolds at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club on Friday, February 14, 2025. The prestigious event will feature competitions for the Al Sharif Group, Crown Industries, and Safra Cups, drawing a strong field of contenders across various categories.

The upcoming race promises intense competition, with closely matched horses vying for victory in their respective categories. Some entries will also be seeking their first triumph, adding an extra layer of anticipation to the event.

The event will consist of eight rounds, each showcasing top-tier equestrian talent:

  • First Round – Safra Cup: A 1200-meter race for purebred Bahraini Arabian horses, featuring contenders such as Kahilan Walad Umm Zarir 1838, Maloulchan 1865, and Abayan 1923.
  • Second Round – Crown Industries Cup: A 1400-meter Tawazon race for locally produced horses, with entries including The Ghost Ship, Strictly, and Tarikh.
  • Third Round – Al Sharif Group Cup: A 1600-meter race for Grade 4 and novice imported horses, featuring competitors like Firth of Clyde, Inspired, and Roosevelt’s Great.
  • Fourth Round: An 1800-meter event for beginner horses of local production, with names such as Fisherman’s Friend, Scrapples, and Ivory among the participants.
  • Fifth Round – Imported Balance Race: A 2000-meter challenge with horses like New Kings Road, Qamran, and Mr. Bamboo.
  • Sixth Round – Crown Industries Cup: A 2200-meter imported balance race featuring West Suffolk, Al Wasmi, and Knight of Honor.
  • Seventh Round – Al Sharif Group Cup: A 1200-meter straight race for locally produced first-category horses, with contenders including Zeel, Shaqardi, and Sinatra.
  • Eighth and Final Round – Al Sharif Group Cup: A 1200-meter imported balance race featuring Celtic Champion, Instinctive Move, and Biz Nair.

The event is expected to provide a thrilling spectacle for equestrian enthusiasts in Bahrain, as stables compete for prestigious titles and valuable trophies. The atmosphere at the track is set to be electric, with racing fans gathering to witness high-stakes competition and enjoy an action-packed day of sport.
