Bahrain Champions AI Ethics, Regional Access, and Energy Security at Marrakech Parliamentary Forum

Bahrain has reaffirmed its dedication to regional diplomacy through active participation in the 3rd Marrakech Economic Parliamentary Forum.
The event focused on the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions, drawing senior parliamentary leaders from across two continents.

The closing session spotlighted two major issues: the ethical use of artificial intelligence and enhanced parliamentary oversight.
Additionally, participants reviewed a Sahel–Atlantic access initiative, positioning it as a strategic path toward peace and cooperation.

This initiative aims to improve connectivity between landlocked Sahel countries and Atlantic trade routes.
Leaders discussed how such access could drive mutual development, promote stability, and enhance regional integration.

Crucially, the forum also tackled macroeconomic trends, global trade changes, and financial realignments impacting both regions.
Sessions delved into energy transition strategies, focusing on climate adaptation and the future of regional energy security.

Environmental health also emerged as a priority, with discussions on the harmful effects of persistent pollutants on public wellbeing.

Bahrain’s delegation included Members of Parliament Mohammed Moosa, Abdulhakim Al Shino, Hanan Fardan, and Basma Mubarak.
Also present were Mohammed Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives, and Kareema Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council.

The Kingdom’s involvement aligns with Bahrain parliamentary cooperation policies emphasizing balance, moderation, and international openness.
These principles reflect the vision of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continued support of Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The delegation’s presence underscores the growing significance of Bahrain parliamentary cooperation in fostering diplomatic and economic dialogue.
Furthermore, Bahrain continues to strengthen its collaboration with global legislative alliances, including the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.

As global challenges intensify, Bahrain parliamentary cooperation remains central to shaping collective solutions for regional stability and progress.
