UAE Warns of Political Shift in Syria and Lebanon Amid Regional Uncertainty

The UAE has issued a cautious warning about fast-moving changes in Syria and Lebanon. Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE president, spoke at the Arab Media Summit in Dubai. He said the region is facing a period of uncertainty and political transformation.

“There is a lack of clarity at this stage and significant changes are underway,” Gargash stated. His remarks come amid growing concerns over stability in both countries.

He pointed to a “major shift happening in the political landscape in Syria and Lebanon.” According to Gargash, some forces are trying to support the two countries through their crises. Others, however, are working against progress.

These comments reflect the UAE’s growing engagement in regional diplomacy. Gargash noted that the Emirates plays a key role in regional stability. He described the UAE as “the main outlet for Lebanon and Syria.”

He also praised the Lebanese and Syrian communities living in the UAE. “They are among the best communities in the country,” he added, reinforcing the importance of social ties.

The UAE has maintained a pragmatic approach to Middle East diplomacy. It continues to advocate for political solutions in conflict zones. Officials have also pushed for increased humanitarian support and dialogue.

Analysts say the UAE’s message is both a warning and a call for cooperation. The Emirati leadership is urging regional actors to work together rather than escalate tensions.

Gargash’s comments come at a time of renewed diplomatic efforts across the Arab world. Talks on reintegrating Syria into Arab institutions are gaining momentum. Meanwhile, Lebanon remains mired in a financial and political crisis with no clear resolution.

As the UAE warns of political shift in Syria and Lebanon, its officials are positioning the country as a mediator. The region’s future, they say, depends on cooperation, not confrontation.
