The first-ever Toyota GR Yaris Cup Qatar concluded successfully in April 2025, marking a major milestone for motorsports in Qatar. Organized by Al Abdulghani Motors, the official Toyota distributor, the championship launched in January with strong support from Toyota Motor Corporation. Over four exciting rounds, ten skilled racers competed fiercely in high-performance GR Yaris vehicles, delivering thrilling motorsports action to fans nationwide.
Throughout the season, the Toyota GR Yaris Cup Qatar gained widespread attention due to its competitive spirit and professional execution. Consequently, Al Abdulghani Motors now looks forward to an even more dynamic second season in 2026.
The closing ceremony welcomed top leaders including Al Abdulghani Motors CEO Abdulghani Nasser Al Abdulghani, COO Abdo Sweidan, Al Abdulghani family members, senior management, sponsors, and media representatives. On this occasion, CEO Al Abdulghani expressed great pride in the championship’s success. He emphasized that the tournament brought together racers from diverse backgrounds and age groups. Moreover, the enthusiasm and positive feedback confirmed the championship’s strong foundation. “This is just the beginning,” he stated, “and we eagerly anticipate developing the event further.”
Between January and April, the ten racers competed under the sponsorship of prominent companies such as Qatar National Bank (QNB), Ooredoo, Al Araby 2/Winwin, Chedid Insurance Brokers, I Love Qatar (ILQ), Qatar Living, IPrint, ENEOS/QALCO, Moteri Autocare Center, and Al Abdulghani Motors. These sponsors helped showcase the racers’ power, endurance, and skill during intense battles on the track.
Furthermore, Al Abdulghani Motors expanded the event’s scope by partnering with Mohamed Naser Al Sayer & Sons Est. Co., Toyota’s official distributor in Kuwait. This collaboration led to the launch of the inaugural Toyota GR Yaris Regional Cup. Held at Kuwait Motor Town, the regional competition featured racers from both Qatar and Kuwait. It highlighted the shared passion and cooperation between the two countries. Notably, the third round of the Qatar Cup was conducted simultaneously in Kuwait, strengthening regional motorsports ties.
The championship’s grand finale took place on April 25 at the Lusail International Circuit. During this thrilling event, Team QNB, represented by Faisal Al Yafei and Khaled Al Maraghi, secured first place. Meanwhile, Team ENEOS/QALCO, led by Saadon Al Kuwari, finished second, and Team Qatar Living, with Izz Bustami, earned third place.
In addition to the racing excitement, all four rounds offered family-friendly activities. Fans enjoyed interactive zones, racing simulators, and exhilarating hot laps. These experiences reinforced Al Abdulghani Motors’ commitment to making motorsports accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
