Over 700 pharmacists and healthcare professionals from both Bahrain and abroad participated in the event. Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health, opened the conference.

The conference explored the latest developments in pharmacy, medicine, and medical technology. Experts held over 40 lectures and workshops. They discussed topics like artificial intelligence, pharmaceutical supply chains, health economics, and the role of medicines in health insurance programs. They also examined the future of pharmacy and its evolving role in healthcare.

Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa highlighted the importance of such events. He pointed out that these gatherings allow healthcare professionals to exchange knowledge and best practices. Moreover, he emphasized that Bahrain is committed to advancing its healthcare system, under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Rehab Al Nuaimi, Chair of the Conference Organizing Committee, expressed the value of the conference. She explained that it offered a wealth of knowledge through scientific presentations and practical workshops. The workshops covered essential topics such as investment in the pharmaceutical industry, drug safety, health leadership, and tracking drug side effects. Participants also discussed the future of professional pharmacy education.

A key takeaway from the conference was the need for pharmacists to embrace modern technologies. Experts noted that artificial intelligence and genetic sciences are shaping the future of the industry. They also agreed that preparing pharmacists for these transformations will improve healthcare quality and patient outcomes.

Pharmacist Adel Sarhan, President of the Bahrain Pharmacists Society, praised the event for its success. He remarked that it has become one of the most prominent events in the Gulf region. It offers outstanding professional and academic opportunities for participants. He also expressed pride in Bahrain’s evolving pharmacy sector and the society’s ongoing commitment to advancing the field.
