Bahrain has once again reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause during a key parliamentary session. The Palestinian cause remains central to the country’s foreign policy, as Bahrain emphasized its commitment to Arab and Islamic solidarity while condemning ongoing violence in Gaza.
MP Jalila Alawi Sayed Hassan represented Bahrain at the 13th meeting of the Palestine Committee. The event was part of the 19th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, held Monday. Alongside her were MP Iman Hassan Shuwaiter and Engineer Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sisi Al-Buainain.
During the session, Alawi highlighted Bahrain’s strong rejection of the aggression against Gaza. She stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire and for humanitarian aid to reach civilians. According to her, Bahrain stands firm in its call for a two-state solution.
She reminded attendees of the 2024 Arab Summit in Manama, where leaders adopted the Bahrain Declaration. This declaration focused on peaceful coexistence and mutual respect between nations. Alawi called for the deployment of a UN peacekeeping force to protect Palestinian civilians.
The Palestinian cause remains central to Bahrain’s foreign policy, she added. Alawi urged fellow OIC parliaments to take decisive steps in advocating for Palestine. She encouraged stronger diplomatic outreach to build global support.
Alawi expressed deep concern over Gaza’s worsening humanitarian crisis. The situation, she explained, is catastrophic and violates international law and UN resolutions. Civilians, especially women and children, suffer the most under these harsh conditions.
She insisted that OIC member parliaments have a responsibility to act. Alawi called on them to prioritize humanitarian efforts, including food, medicine, and shelter delivery. According to her, collective action can help ease the suffering of civilians.
She concluded by reiterating that the Palestinian cause remains central to the Islamic world’s conscience. She said the issue should unite all parliaments under one goal—justice for the Palestinian people.
Alawi urged nations to push for a fair settlement that allows Palestinians to build an independent state. She stressed that instability in the region will persist unless real peace is achieved. Bahrain continues to affirm that the Palestinian cause remains central to regional and global stability.
