Kuwaiti Team Wins Judges’ Award at VEX Robotics World Championship 2025

Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Youth announced that Team Valtech, representing the Women’s Cultural and Social Society, won the Judges’ Award in the high school division at the 16th edition of the VEX Robotics World Championship 2025. The prestigious event took place in Texas, USA. It featured around 1,200 teams from 60 countries. The Kuwaiti team’s achievement highlights the country’s growing expertise in robotics and engineering.

The award-winning team included high school students Mohammad Al-Bannai, Fajer Al-Muqahwi, and Yousef Al-Tamimi, who participated in the event in Texas. They received strong support from a team in Kuwait consisting of Yousef Al-Obaid, Widad Reda, and Mohammad Al-Ali. This was under the leadership of Latifa Al-Marzouqi. Team Valtech’s victory marks a proud moment for Kuwaiti youth in global technology competitions.

The collaboration between Kuwait University’s Department of Computer Science at the College of Science, the Public Authority for Youth, and the Ministry of Education played a significant role in the team’s success. Strategic support from partners Zain Kuwait and Al-Sayer Group contributed to their achievement. This earned them the Judges’ Award.

The team’s preparation for the event was rigorous and well-structured. This hands-on experience in robotics and artificial intelligence equipped the students with the necessary skills. They competed on the global stage.

Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Youth congratulated Team Valtech for their outstanding achievement. They expressed pride in the students’ dedication and wished them continued success in their academic and technological journeys.

This marks the first time Kuwait will field a team in this age category. It signals the country’s expanding presence in global technology competitions. With their recent success at the VEX Robotics World Championship, Kuwaiti youth are proving their capabilities on the world stage.
