Qatar PM Invites Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani to Doha Forum

Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, officially invited Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani to the Doha Forum this December.

This important step reflects growing ties between the two sides. Notably, it strengthens Qatar-Kurdistan relations in both diplomacy and mutual cooperation.

Last year, Qatar opened its consulate in Erbil, showing its deepening interest in the region. Before that, Qatar reopened its embassy in Baghdad in 2015.

Moreover, both governments continue to strengthen dialogue through regular meetings, discussing various topics, including Qatar-Kurdistan relations in areas like trade, infrastructure, education, and economic growth.

Importantly, the forum offers a platform for regional dialogue and international cooperation. Leaders from around the world will attend to share ideas and solutions. Therefore, Nechirvan Barzani’s participation would add great value to the event.

In addition, this invitation shows Qatar’s wider regional strategy. It continues to promote peace, diplomacy, and meaningful partnerships. Through this approach, Qatar-Kurdistan relations have become a key part of Qatar’s foreign vision.

For example, talks are ongoing in sectors like construction, agriculture, and renewable energy. These discussions aim to create jobs and ensure long-term stability.

Meanwhile, leaders from both regions are expected to hold additional meetings before the forum. These interactions may lead to formal agreements on joint projects further embedding Qatar-Kurdistan relations in productive ventures.
