Bahrain Accelerates Housing Projects Under the Government Land Development Rights Program

The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning visited several key housing projects in Bahrain. These projects are part of the Government Land Development Rights Program, which aims to provide affordable housing. The Minister visited projects in Salman City, Al Buhair, and the Southern Governorate. These projects are developed in collaboration with real estate developers.

Notably, the Minister emphasized the importance of adhering to project timelines and accelerating their completion. This effort aligns with the government’s plan to deliver 50,000 new housing units. The Government Land Development Rights Program is crucial in making this goal achievable. It has already provided immediate housing services to many families in need.

These developers play a key role in offering affordable housing options through the “Tas’heel,” “Tas’heel+,” “Mazaya,” and “Mazaya New Category” financing options. The Minister highlighted the program’s success. For instance, the Al Naseem Neighborhood project in Salman City sold out in just four days after opening. Similarly, the Al Wadi project in Al Buhair sold out within minutes at the exhibition of the Social Housing Innovation Conference held earlier this year.

Als o, this demand for housing reflects citizens’ desire for suitable and affordable housing solutions. These projects, under the Government Land Development Rights Program, provide timely and affordable options for families.

Regarding progress, the Minister shared updates on the inspected projects. The Al Naseem Neighborhood project is 61% complete. The Al Wadi project is 31% complete, and the Hoora Sanad project is 10% complete. Construction is progressing rapidly, with the goal of finishing the projects on time.

Looking ahead, the Minister announced more projects in the pipeline. The Ministry has launched tenders for three new projects in Salman City. This will bring the total number of projects to seven. These efforts will help increase the housing supply and provide modern, sustainable living spaces.

This will support real estate developers in implementing housing projects on private lands. The government will offer technical support to ensure smooth execution.
