Bahrain Hosts Second Edition of Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship

The Bahrain Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship returns for its second edition this Friday in Isa Sports City. This event, which promotes the growth of combat sports in Bahrain, will take place at the Bahrain Table Tennis Federation Hall.

The Bahrain Jiu-Jitsu Federation is organizing the tournament. It operates under the supervision of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council. The event has drawn attention due to its scale and international participation. Most importantly, it continues to strengthen Bahrain’s jiu-jitsu scene.

This major sporting event is held under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He is the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. He also serves as the President of both the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

Redha Ibrahim Monfaridi, President of the Bahrain Jiu-Jitsu Federation, expressed pride in this sponsorship. He emphasized the importance of such backing in promoting Bahrain’s jiu-jitsu scene. According to him, this support helps elevate the sport both locally and internationally.

Moreover, Monfaridi praised the Bahrain Combat Sports Council for its role in supporting national sports federations. The Council, led by Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, continues to push for sports development. It ensures that federations execute effective plans that benefit their athletes and programs.

In this year’s championship, 153 athletes will compete. Among them, 80 are in the uniform category, while 73 will compete in the non-uniform division. Notably, the athletes represent 19 nationalities and 26 clubs. This includes 11 clubs from outside Bahrain. Clearly, Bahrain’s jiu-jitsu scene is gaining global recognition.

Furthermore, Monfaridi explained that the Federation sees this championship as more than a competition. It is a platform for discovering new talent and building strong national teams. These teams will proudly represent Bahrain in future international competitions.

Preparations for the championship are complete. Organizers have worked hard to ensure a smooth and professional event. With local and international athletes participating, the championship promises exciting matches and memorable moments.

Additionally, the Federation extended thanks to the General Sports Authority and other supporters. Their contributions were essential in organizing this important tournament. Everyone involved hopes for great performances and positive results.

In conclusion, the Bahrain Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship plays a key role in advancing Bahrain’s jiu-jitsu scene. Through strong leadership and community support, this event promotes excellence and international competitiveness. The growth of Bahrain’s jiu-jitsu scene remains the goal for all involved.
