The General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives welcomed a delegation of students from three schools this morning, Tuesday, April 22. The delegation, consisting of students from Awal Intermediate School for Boys, Ghazi Al-Gosaibi Secondary School, and Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Al Khalifa Comprehensive School, visited the Council to learn about its work and the legislative process in Bahrain.
This visit is part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to engage the community and promote parliamentary culture. By involving students in these educational experiences, the Council aims to increase awareness of parliamentary functions and the democratic process. It also seeks to prepare future generations to understand the importance of legislative and diplomatic roles in governance.
The delegation was received by MPs Jalila Al Sayed Hassan, Mohsen Al Asboul, Lulwa Al Rumaihi, and Basima Abdul Karim. As part of the visit, Khalid Al Bader, Executive Parliamentary Tools Specialist at the General Secretariat, presented an introductory video. The video provided an overview of the Council’s responsibilities, its key milestones, and the history of the parliamentary system in Bahrain.
Additionally, the students attended part of the 27th Regular Session of the Council of Representatives. They observed the workflow of Council members during a live session. The students also toured the Parliamentary Museum, which showcases Bahrain’s scientific and cultural progress through the years. The museum highlights important historical events and national achievements.
This initiative is a significant part of the Council’s mission to involve all sectors of Bahraini society, especially schools and universities. The Council believes in the importance of promoting parliamentary culture and encouraging students to actively engage in the democratic process.
