Saudi Arabia and the United States discussed deepening energy cooperation on Saturday during a high-level meeting in Riyadh.

Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman met with U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), where both sides explored ways to strengthen ties in the energy sector.

The meeting formed part of Wright’s official visit to the Kingdom and focused on shared challenges in the global energy landscape. The discussions highlighted joint interests in research, innovation, and sustainable solutions.

During the visit, the U.S. delegation received a detailed briefing on KAPSARC’s work in energy policy research. The center outlined its contributions to climate change mitigation, energy transition, and sustainable transport.

Both parties emphasized the importance of collaboration in energy research. They explored joint studies, technical cooperation, and knowledge exchange between Saudi and American institutions.

The talks underlined a shared commitment to advancing energy innovation and ensuring long-term sustainability. Officials on both sides expressed interest in future partnerships that focus on technology, clean energy, and market stability.
