Kuwaiti athletes Faris Al-Obaid and Abdulrahman Al-Wuhaibi made a remarkable achievement by qualifying for the second and final round of Alpine Skiing-Slalom at the Ninth Asian Winter Games (Harbin 2025) this Sunday.
Both athletes successfully completed the slalom race, held in the Yabuli Mountains, finishing both the first and second rounds. Their accomplishment is not only a significant milestone but also boosts their international rankings by earning them valuable points.
Fuhaid Al-Ajmi, head of the Kuwaiti delegation, praised the outstanding performances of Al-Wuhaibi and Al-Obaid, emphasizing that their skillful efforts place them in a strong position to secure higher rankings in future international events.
Al-Wuhaibi expressed great pride in advancing to the final round alongside Al-Obaid, noting that competing against the top athletes in Asia during their first participation in such a prestigious continental competition is a remarkable achievement for Kuwaiti winter sports.
Meanwhile, Al-Obaid acknowledged the crucial support provided by the Kuwait Winter Sports Club, which helped meet the team’s needs and played a key role in their strong performance.
