Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, emphasized Oman’s firm stance on the Gaza ceasefire agreement. He led the Omani delegation at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Sayyid Badr called for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. He also insisted on the return of displaced Palestinians and the delivery of humanitarian aid to all areas of Gaza. He firmly warned against any violations of Palestinian rights or displacement efforts.
Oman’s support for the Gaza ceasefire agreement remained strong. The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to working alongside OIC member states to confront Israeli aggression. He stressed the need for an effective international mechanism to stop violations, protect civilians, and hold Israeli officials accountable for their actions.
The extraordinary OIC meeting was chaired by Lejeune Mbella Mbella, Cameroon’s Minister of External Relations. Several foreign ministers from member states participated in the meeting.
Oman’s delegation included Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Al-Maskari and Minister Plenipotentiary Salem bin Mohammed Al-Busaidi. Other officials from Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Sayyid Badr met with Dr. Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister. They discussed strengthening bilateral relations, exploring mutual cooperation, and exchanged views on regional developments. Both officials highlighted the importance of dialogue and diplomatic efforts for peaceful solutions.
In another meeting, Sayyid Badr also met Bakhtiyor Saidov, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister. They discussed diplomatic cooperation, economic development, and investment opportunities between their nations.
This participation further underscored Oman’s support for the Gaza ceasefire agreement and its broader role in promoting regional stability.
