Rasheed Bank Loans now offer Iraqi employees, pensioners, and other borrowers financing options worth up to 125 million Iraqi dinars. A bank document dated October 19 outlines several lending products, repayment periods, and interest rates. The expanded options cover personal advances, installment purchases, housing improvements, education, and professional needs.
Public-sector employees can access advances ranging from 5 million to 25 million dinars. They can repay these loans over five years at an annual declining-balance interest rate of 8%. Moreover, borrowers can obtain these advances without providing a guarantor, according to the document.
Contract employees can receive advances of up to 5 million dinars under similar conditions. Meanwhile, pensioners qualify for advances ranging from 5 million to 15 million dinars. These advances also carry an eight percent declining-balance interest rate and offer repayment periods extending to five years without guarantors.
The bank also provides installment financing for eligible borrowers seeking larger purchases. These facilities range from 5 million to 125 million dinars, with repayment scheduled over 12 months. Additionally, employees and pensioners can access financing between 250,000 and 25 million dinars. Depending on the facility, borrowers can select repayment periods of 12, 24, or 36 months.
Other products address specific personal expenses and household requirements. Rasheed Bank offers Visa credit cards with limits reaching 5 million dinars. It also provides marriage advances of up to 10 million dinars, repayable over five years. Furthermore, borrowers can seek home renovation and maintenance loans worth up to 75 million dinars.
Healthcare professionals have access to another financing option through the bank. Eligible applicants can obtain loans reaching 80 million dinars, with repayment periods extending to five years. However, applicants should confirm the individual eligibility requirements and conditions before relying on the published maximum amounts.
Education financing also appears among the bank’s listed products. University advances range from 25 million to 50 million dinars, with repayment periods of five years. In addition, special-grade government officials can access loans worth up to 100 million dinars. Notaries public qualify for another category, with borrowing limits reaching 50 million dinars.
The announcement comes as Iraq’s state-owned banks navigate wider lending pressures. In recent months, liquidity shortages have constrained lending activity across the public banking sector. Consequently, the expanded Rasheed Bank offerings arrive amid broader attention to credit availability for individuals and businesses.
On October 19, Finance Minister Falih Al-Sari also directed state-owned Rafidain Bank to resume lending to public-sector employees. He called for simpler loan applications and wider financing opportunities for private businesses. Together, these measures indicate renewed attention to lending access across Iraq’s state-owned banking system.
Central Bank of Iraq figures illustrate the financial pressures behind these developments. During the first half of 2026, deposits declined by 5.6%, while cash credit contracted by 5.4%. These figures provide important context for efforts to restore lending and broaden access to financing.
Overall, Rasheed Bank Loans cover several borrower groups and a broad range of personal and professional expenses. Nevertheless, maximum limits, interest rates, and repayment terms vary by product and applicant category. Prospective borrowers should consult the bank directly to confirm current conditions, documentation requirements, and application procedures.
