Makkah Defense Pact Secretariat Endorsed by Saudi Arabia Cabinet

Makkah defense pact progress received official endorsement during a weekly Saudi cabinet meeting in Jeddah. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chaired the executive assembly to review pressing security and diplomatic initiatives. Ministers welcomed formal progress made by Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan toward creating a joint operational body. Consequently, the three participating partner nations agreed to locate the upcoming general secretariat directly inside the Kingdom. Furthermore, senior defense and foreign officials established the framework during high-level strategic consultations held in Istanbul.

Therefore, the Makkah defense pact aims to enhance collective deterrence and streamline military integration across member states. Participating alliance members plan to deepen practical cooperation to support long-term regional stability and peace. Meanwhile, the Saudi cabinet reviewed additional diplomatic messages received from international partners, including Bangladesh leadership. Information Minister Salman Al-Dosary summarized the main conclusions reached during the high-level ministerial discussions. In addition, council members reaffirmed their commitment to supporting key diplomatic initiatives across the Islamic world.

Separately, the Makkah defense pact discussions coincided with cabinet reviews of recent Organization of Islamic Cooperation decisions. Ministers congratulated Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on his recent election as the new organization secretary-general. Furthermore, government leadership praised outgoing secretary-general Hissein Brahim Taha for his dedicated service throughout his tenure. The cabinet emphasized that regional defense coordination aligns with broader diplomatic efforts to promote international stability. Ultimately, Saudi leadership remains committed to strengthening operational partnerships with key strategic allies across the globe.
