Kuwait Graduates 486 New Investigators, 179 Women

Kuwait has graduated 486 new investigators, including 179 women, marking a significant step in expanding women’s role in law enforcement.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah attended the graduation ceremony of the eighth class of investigators from the General Department of Investigations on Monday.

Addressing the graduates, Sheikh Fahad said investigative work carries a national responsibility and requires integrity, impartiality and a strong commitment to the rule of law.

He urged the new investigators to uncover the truth, protect individual rights and apply the law fairly, regardless of a person’s status or position.

“Justice and the law must remain the foundation” of their duties, he said, stressing that legal provisions must apply equally to everyone.

Director General of the General Department of Investigations Major General Dr Faisal Al-Makrad also highlighted the importance of investigators in supporting Kuwait’s justice system and enforcing the law.

The graduates took their legal oath during the ceremony before beginning their professional duties as Investigator C.

The graduating class included 307 men, among them 35 officers, and 179 women, including four officers.

The ceremony also marked the first graduation of female police officers set to work in investigations, strengthening women’s participation in Kuwait’s law enforcement and investigative sectors.

The ceremony was attended by Ministry of Interior Undersecretary Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahib, along with senior ministry officials.
