Kuwait Urges Public To Activate Electronic Signature

Kuwait’s Ministry of Justice and the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) have called on citizens and residents to activate the country’s approved electronic signature service to simplify access to government and banking services.

In a joint statement issued on Monday, the two authorities said the electronic signature allows users to authenticate transactions and official documents digitally without handwritten signatures or visiting government offices. They added that the service carries full legal validity under Kuwaiti law.

The electronic signature will gradually be integrated into a growing range of government services provided by the Ministry of Justice. These include electronic notarization, issuing and revoking powers of attorney online, and other legal procedures.

The service will also support company formation, commercial licensing through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and selected banking transactions and contracts that can be completed remotely.

Citizens can activate the electronic signature through the Kuwait Mobile ID application or designated self-service kiosks, while residents can complete the process using self-service machines available at locations across the country.

The two authorities encouraged users to activate the service in advance to ensure seamless access to current and future digital government and banking services as Kuwait continues to expand its digital transformation initiatives.
