One Killed In Kuwait After Strike Hits Chinese Company

A worker was killed after a strike hit a Chinese company in northern Kuwait on Thursday, according to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, as tensions across the region continued to escalate.

Ministry spokesperson Col. Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan said the attack struck a building belonging to the company, causing significant structural damage and leaving one worker dead.

He said emergency teams responded immediately in coordination with the relevant authorities, adding that Kuwait’s armed forces remain fully prepared to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, security and the safety of residents.

Iran had not issued any statement claiming responsibility for an attack on Kuwait at the time of publication.

However, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said its aerospace forces had launched several ballistic missiles targeting a US air base and command center in Jordan. Earlier on Thursday, Jordan’s armed forces said air defenses intercepted five missiles fired from Iran.

In a separate statement, the IRGC also claimed it had forced two oil tankers to change course in the Strait of Hormuz after one of the vessels caught fire. The group asserted control over the strategic waterway and warned countries it accused of supporting the United States that they could face a “harsh response.”

The developments followed US Central Command (CENTCOM)’s announcement that it had carried out a series of strikes on Iranian targets early Thursday in response to what it described as attempted Iranian missile attacks on US forces in the Middle East.
