Qatar Airways Cargo Expands Asia Freight Network

Qatar Airways Cargo and MASkargo have expanded their partnership with the launch of a new dedicated cargo route linking Kuala Lumpur, Bengaluru and Doha.

The twice-weekly freighter service is operated by Qatar Airways Cargo’s Boeing 777 aircraft and provides around 200 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity. The route will transport a range of goods, including general cargo, pharmaceuticals, perishables and high-value shipments.

The companies said the service has already transported more than 1,000 tonnes of cargo since freight operations began, highlighting growing demand for air cargo links between Asia and the Gulf.

The new route builds on the broader cargo partnership formed in 2025 between Qatar Airways Cargo, MASkargo and IAG Cargo, which aims to strengthen global freight connectivity through closer operational cooperation.

According to Malaysia Airlines, the latest expansion will improve network resilience, support trade flows across Asia and provide customers with better access to markets in Europe, North America and the Middle East.

MASkargo Chief Executive Mark Jason Thomas said the collaboration reinforces Kuala Lumpur’s role as a regional cargo hub while allowing both airlines to combine their networks to deliver greater connectivity, operational flexibility and more efficient logistics solutions for international customers.
