Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi held a telephone conversation on Monday with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to discuss regional developments and growing security challenges.
According to Omani officials, the talks focused on the importance of continued coordination and diplomatic engagement to help ease tensions and support regional stability.
The two ministers stressed the need for dialogue and confidence-building measures, while encouraging cooperation among regional and international parties to prevent further escalation.
They also discussed the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and ensuring the security of maritime trade routes and supply chains, amid continued concerns over instability affecting regional waters.
In addition, the discussions covered bilateral relations between Oman and the United Kingdom, with both sides exploring ways to expand economic and trade cooperation, including broader Gulf-UK partnerships.
Oman has increasingly positioned itself as a regional mediator in times of heightened tension, maintaining diplomatic channels with multiple international and regional actors.
