Jordan Says It Intercepted Missiles Fired From Iran

Jordan’s armed forces said air defence systems intercepted and shot down five missiles launched from Iran toward the Azraq area in Zarqa Governorate on Tuesday evening.

A military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces said the missiles were intercepted before reaching their intended targets, according to the state-run Petra news agency.

The source added that debris from the missiles fell in parts of the area, but no casualties or material damage were reported.

Engineering teams were deployed to inspect and secure the site, with authorities confirming that the missile remnants were examined to ensure there were no unexploded materials.

The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions and continued security concerns linked to missile activity across the Middle East.
