More than 3,000 people across the UAE have benefited from smoking cessation services provided by Emirates Health Services (EHS), as authorities continue expanding preventive healthcare programmes aimed at reducing tobacco use.
According to EHS, the country currently operates 18 specialised smoking cessation clinics through primary healthcare centres located across several emirates, including Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
The programme offers medical treatment, behavioural support and follow-up care designed to help residents quit smoking while raising awareness about tobacco-related health risks.
Officials said the services are part of wider efforts to strengthen preventive healthcare and encourage healthier lifestyles across the UAE, where public health campaigns have increasingly focused on reducing chronic diseases linked to smoking.
Patients can register through digital healthcare platforms or directly at participating centres, where specialised medical teams carry out health assessments and monitor treatment progress electronically.
The expansion linked to 3,000 smokers seek help to quit as UAE expands specialised clinics also includes the use of biometric technologies to measure carbon monoxide levels, helping doctors track patient recovery and reduce relapse risks.
EHS said demand for smoking cessation support has continued to grow in recent years, with the number of beneficiaries rising significantly in 2025 compared with the previous year.
Future plans connected to 3,000 smokers seek help to quit as UAE expands specialised clinics include the launch of a dedicated smart application offering personalised treatment plans, reminders and daily health goals for users.
Authorities are also studying additional initiatives such as psychological support services, awareness campaigns and educational programmes targeting younger age groups as part of broader national health objectives.
