Kuwait, Bahrain Discuss Gulf Security Cooperation

Kuwait and Bahrain reaffirmed their commitment to closer security coordination during high-level meetings in Kuwait City, as Gulf states continue efforts to strengthen regional stability amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

At Bayan Palace on Sunday, Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received Bahraini Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa and his accompanying delegation during an official visit to Kuwait.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, along with several senior officials.

According to Kuwait’s Interior Ministry, discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in security matters and enhancing coordination between Gulf states in response to regional challenges.

During separate talks, Sheikh Fahad and Sheikh Rashid stressed the importance of unified Gulf security efforts and deeper partnerships among member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Kuwaiti officials described relations between the two countries as longstanding and closely linked, particularly in the security sector. Sheikh Fahad also expressed support for Bahrain’s efforts to maintain stability and praised the readiness of Bahraini security agencies in addressing regional threats.

The meetings additionally covered recent regional and international developments, with both sides emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation to support Gulf security and stability.

The visit comes at a time when Gulf countries are increasing coordination on security and defense issues amid wider tensions across the Middle East.
