Bahrain Revenue Authority Reviews Equality Progress

The Equal Opportunities Committee at Bahrain’s National Revenue Authority held its second meeting of 2026 to review ongoing workplace inclusion initiatives and assess progress on gender balance and institutional development.

The meeting was chaired by Rana Ibrahim Faqihi, chief executive of the authority and head of the committee, as officials examined current programmes aimed at strengthening an inclusive and sustainable work environment across the organisation.

Committee members reviewed performance indicators recorded up to May 2026, which showed continued progress in equal opportunity measures and the development of national talent within the authority. Officials said the results reflected ongoing efforts to improve workplace support systems despite broader regional and economic challenges facing Bahrain.

Discussions also focused on the implementation of existing initiatives under the committee’s approved plans for 2025 and 2026. According to the authority, several programmes have advanced steadily and are meeting targeted outcomes linked to institutional empowerment and workforce development.

During the session, members considered a new policy-focused initiative designed to support mental health awareness and encourage a healthier balance between professional and personal life. The proposal includes workshops and lectures in coordination with relevant organisations, with the aim of improving employee wellbeing, productivity and job satisfaction.

The Equal Opportunities Committee said the plans form part of wider efforts in Bahrain and across the Gulf region to strengthen workplace policies that support employee welfare and long-term institutional sustainability.

At the close of the meeting, the authority reaffirmed its commitment to expanding quality-focused initiatives and reinforcing equal opportunity principles across all areas of work, in line with Bahrain’s sustainable development goals.
