The Muharraq Municipal Council held its 17th regular meeting of the fourth session of its sixth legislative term, reviewing a range of service and infrastructure-related issues aimed at improving public services across the governorate.
In Bahrain, the council met at its headquarters on Monday with all members present, discussing correspondence, proposals, and updates linked to municipal development and service delivery.
Members reviewed several items related to traffic regulation, infrastructure improvement, and the development of public services in different areas of Muharraq, with the aim of enhancing quality of life and responding to residents’ needs.
The council also examined updates on ongoing development projects and coordination with relevant authorities to monitor implementation progress. Discussions included a number of proposals designed to improve urban planning and municipal services.
Under other business, members raised issues related to commercial and service activities, as well as observations on infrastructure challenges. Ideas were also discussed to improve road organisation, including entrances and exits in key locations to help ease traffic flow and improve road safety.
Among the topics reviewed were concerns over car wash activity regulation, a request for a report on rainwater accumulation in specific residential complexes, and proposals to expand road capacity at a key intersection in the Al-Hidd area.
Members also considered suggestions to improve access routes leading to the Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Bridge, a key transport link in Bahrain, as part of wider efforts to strengthen traffic management in the region.
The Muharraq Municipal Council said continued coordination with government bodies remains essential to ensuring effective service delivery and addressing public needs across the governorate.
The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by local councils in Bahrain to manage urban growth and improve infrastructure planning in response to population and development demands.
