Al Rayyan Advances to Qatar Cup Semifinals After Dominant Win

Qatar Cup basketball saw Al Rayyan secure the first semifinal spot after defeating Al Khor 70-47. The team showcased strong defense and fast-paced offense throughout the match.

Al Rayyan controlled the game from the start, winning the first quarter 23-6. They faced a slight challenge in the second quarter, trailing 12-14, but quickly regained momentum. The third quarter ended 21-16 and the fourth 14-11 in favor of Al Rayyan, confirming their semifinal berth.

Abdullah Yassin led Al Rayyan’s performance and was named Player of the Match. He also scored 15 points, grabbed one rebound, and contributed three assists, helping maintain the team’s lead.

Al Rayyan will meet the winner of the quarterfinal between defending champions Al Arabi and Al Sadd on April 13. Fans expect a competitive semifinal as both teams bring strong lineups and tournament experience.

Earlier, Al Sadd advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Al Ahli 78-67 in the preliminary round. Tomorrow, quarterfinal matches continue at Al Gharafa Sports Club Hall. Al Wakrah will face Qatar, while Al Gharafa plays Al Shamal. The winners of these matches will meet in the semifinals.
