Kuwait Strengthens Anti-Corruption Efforts with New Nazaha Board to Safeguard State Resources

Kuwait is intensifying its fight against corruption as the Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) welcomes its new board. Combatting corruption and safeguarding state resources is now a top priority, emphasizing fairness and accountability across the nation.

The Amir received the new Nazaha board members in a formal ceremony, highlighting the importance of their role. Chairperson Dr. Rana Al-Fares, Deputy Chairperson Dr. Majed Al-Deihani, and board members Rania Al-Fulaij, Dr. Abdullah Al-Dabbous, and Dhay Al-Otaibi were sworn in following a recent decree. Officials stressed that the authority must handle all corruption cases promptly and efficiently.

During the ceremony, the Amir emphasized that the region faces rapid political, security, and economic changes. He urged the board to strengthen national unity while protecting the state’s financial and institutional resources. “Our country must confront corruption decisively to ensure sustainable development and maintain public trust,” officials reported.

The Amir also directed the board to fully implement the United Nations Convention Against Corruption. Officials encouraged members to adopt clear policies to face modern challenges and apply the law equally to all citizens and officials, increasing transparency and promoting integrity within government. institutions.

Nazaha’s renewed mandate comes at a critical time, as Kuwait works to align with international anti-corruption standards.
