Kuwait Urges Arab League Reform Amid Rising Regional Tensions and Security Threats

Kuwait calls for Arab League reform as regional tensions continue to rise. The country raised concerns during a high-level diplomatic meeting. Moreover, officials stressed the urgent need to strengthen collective Arab action.

Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah spoke during a virtual session of Arab foreign ministers. He highlighted serious gaps in the current system. Furthermore, he argued that the Arab League struggles to address fast-changing challenges.

He explained that past experiences revealed limited effectiveness within the organization. In addition, he said the current structure fails to keep pace with regional developments. Therefore, he called for a comprehensive restructuring process.

Kuwait calls for Arab League reform while emphasizing stronger coordination. He urged members to improve decision-making mechanisms. At the same time, he pushed for better implementation of joint policies.

The remarks came during a period of rising regional tensions. Kuwait recently faced multiple aerial threats. Since late February, defense systems intercepted hundreds of drones and missiles. As a result, several casualties occurred across Gulf countries.

He strongly condemned these attacks. He described them as clear violations of sovereignty and international law. Moreover, he warned that such actions increase instability across the region.

In addition, he pointed to the broader expansion of threats. He stated that armed groups linked to Iran launched attacks using advanced weapons. Consequently, these incidents affected several Arab countries, including Kuwait.

He also addressed internal security concerns. Authorities arrested several cells linked to Hezbollah. These groups allegedly planned sabotage operations. Therefore, security forces acted quickly to prevent further risks.

He also stressed the importance of involving regional countries in negotiations. He argued that affected nations should help shape security outcomes. In particular, he highlighted talks related to Iran’s role in the region.
