Iraq Caught in Escalating US–Iran–Israel Conflict Amid Regional Strikes

Iraq faces escalating US-Iran-Israel conflict as regional tensions spark airstrikes, drone attacks, and missile incidents across multiple countries.

Israeli forces reportedly targeted Iranian national security chief Ali Larijani overnight, though officials have not confirmed the strike. Larijani recently appeared in a public rally in Tehran, dismissing US-Israeli attacks as acts of fear and desperation.

China announced it will provide humanitarian aid to Iraq, Iran, Jordan, and Lebanon. Spokesperson Lin Jian said the support aims to ease the humanitarian burden caused by ongoing conflicts.

Explosions shook Tehran during overnight attacks, with residents reporting heavy blasts across the city. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards arrested 10 alleged foreign spies in Razavi Khorasan province, citing threats to economic and strategic sites.

Oil prices jumped over five percent amid military escalation. West Texas Intermediate rose to $98.32 per barrel, while Brent crude surged above five percent before easing. The Fujairah oil complex in the UAE suffered another drone strike, causing a fire but no injuries.

Qatar intercepted a missile attack in Doha, while Dubai warned citizens to seek safe locations after three explosions. Abu Dhabi experienced falling shrapnel from an intercepted missile, which killed a Pakistani national.

An “unknown projectile” hit a tanker near Oman, causing minor structural damage without injuries. Israel launched wide-scale airstrikes in Tehran and Beirut, targeting Iranian and Hezbollah positions. In Beirut, three neighborhoods suffered damage, and one Ethiopian woman was injured.

The US embassy in Baghdad faced a combined drone and rocket attack, while a missile strike on a Baghdad house killed four people. Security officials said attackers struck a house in Baghdad and killed four people, including two who served as Iranian advisors linked to Tehran‑backed groups.

US President Donald Trump called for allies to secure the Strait of Hormuz, though European nations hesitated. He urged a quick and enthusiastic response to protect the vital waterway carrying a fifth of global oil.

Analysts warn Iraq faces escalating US-Iran-Israel conflict, underscoring the urgent need for diplomacy to prevent further destabilization. The crisis highlights the region’s fragility and the impact on civilian populations and energy infrastructure.
