Kuwait Elevates Security Amid Drone and Missile Threats

Kuwait security has become the top priority after recent drone and missile attacks targeted the country. Authorities responded immediately, coordinating military, civil, and humanitarian efforts to protect citizens and vital infrastructure.

Drones struck Kuwait International Airport’s radar system, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation reported. Fortunately, no injuries occurred. Officials confirmed that emergency plans activated at the start of the crisis ensured effective response.

Kuwait’s air defenses intercepted hostile attacks, preventing damage to key locations. The National Guard shot down five drones over 24 hours, highlighting the country’s vigilant defense capabilities. Coordination between military, police, and civil authorities continues to ensure safety.

The Crown Prince visited several military bases and key sites to assess readiness and boost morale. He commended the armed forces, air defense personnel, Interior Ministry, National Guard, medical teams, and volunteers for their heroic efforts. He also praised citizens’ participation in nationwide blood donation campaigns, reflecting unity and national solidarity.

Defense and health officials inspected hospitals and blood banks to maintain emergency medical readiness. Authorities confirmed sufficient blood and platelet reserves, ensuring preparedness for any further incidents. Injured personnel received immediate care, and others have fully recovered.

Kuwait security measures also include cyber protection. The National Cybersecurity Center monitors networks 24/7 to detect threats. Officials verified systems and warned the public against spreading misinformation regarding potential cyberattacks.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce and Kuwait Municipality conducted inspections to maintain order and prevent exploitation. Violations, such as selling above fixed prices or failing to display receipts, were addressed. Temporary permits for event tents have been suspended as a precautionary measure.

Social welfare and emergency organizations remain active. The Kuwait Red Crescent Society increased volunteers to 381 for rapid response. The society also held workshops on psychological first aid for staff and volunteers. Kuwait University conducted mock drills to train staff and test emergency protocols.

Overall, Kuwait security efforts highlight strong coordination between government agencies, civil authorities, and citizens. The country continues to strengthen resilience and readiness to face complex regional threats while ensuring public safety.
