Kuwait’s Digital Leap: Beyon Wins $2.8B Fiber Network Project

Kuwait fiber network development moves forward after Beyon Group secured the winning bid. The announcement marks a major step in Kuwait’s digital transformation plans. Moreover, the project signals long-term regional investment in advanced infrastructure. Kuwait fiber network development will now enter its execution phase under a 50-year partnership model.

The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects selected Beyon Group after a competitive process. Officials confirmed that Beyon met all regulatory and technical requirements. In addition, the company outperformed several international bidders. The decision allows both parties to establish a new project company.

Under the agreement, Beyon will finance, design, and build the network. The company will also operate and maintain the system. Meanwhile, the authority will hold a 60 percent stake. Beyon will retain the remaining 40 percent. Furthermore, officials plan to allocate part of the public stake to Kuwaiti citizens.

The total investment will exceed $2.8 billion over the agreement period. Therefore, analysts describe it as one of Kuwait’s largest infrastructure initiatives. The project aims to connect more than 90 percent of land plots. Additionally, it will deliver speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second.

Kuwait fiber network development aligns closely with Kuwait Vision 2035 goals. The strategy focuses on digital transformation and economic diversification. Consequently, the new infrastructure will support businesses, households, and government services. Leaders believe it will strengthen Kuwait’s competitiveness in the region.

Beyon built its proposal using in-house expertise. Company teams prepared the technical and operational frameworks independently. As a result, the bid reflected strong engineering and regulatory experience. Executives highlighted the group’s previous fiber deployments across several markets.

The company connected more than 2.2 million residential units to fiber networks. In Bahrain, fiber coverage already exceeds 95 percent. Therefore, Beyon enters the Kuwaiti market with proven large-scale experience.

Chairman Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed pride in the selection. He thanked the Kuwaiti authorities for their confidence. He also emphasized the group’s commitment to regional digital growth. Furthermore, he described the award as recognition of regional expertise.

Chief Executive Andrew Calseth said the achievement followed two years of preparation. He noted that the team demonstrated strong operational readiness. Moreover, he stressed the importance of managing complex national infrastructure.

Beyon will now begin preparations for implementation. The company will coordinate closely with Kuwaiti authorities. Officials expect both sides to finalize structural requirements soon.

Kuwait fiber network development represents more than infrastructure expansion. It reflects long-term investment in innovation and connectivity. As implementation begins, stakeholders will monitor timelines carefully. The coming years will determine how effectively this ambitious project reshapes Kuwait’s digital landscape.
